Agile Robots SE was founded in Munich in 2018 as a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) by Zhaopeng Chen and Peter Meusel. It develops robot arms and software that pair precision force-torque control with machine vision, aimed at industrial and medical applications. A 2021 Series C led by SoftBank Vision Fund, with Sequoia Capital China, Hillhouse, Xiaomi and Foxconn Industrial Internet participating, made it Germany's first robotics unicorn.
