Alt-Bionics Robots
Alt-Bionics was founded in 2020 in San Antonio, Texas by Ryan Saavedra, following a UTSA senior design project that produced an AI-enhanced bionic hand with touch sensing for roughly $600 — a fraction of the near six-figure cost of comparable robotic prostheses. The company builds affordable multi-articulating prosthetic hands for below-elbow amputees, with the same hardware applicable as a robotic end-effector.
