Melbourne, VictoriaFounded 2022Website

Andromeda Robotics was co-founded in Melbourne in 2022 by Grace Brown and Yan Chen to address loneliness through a humanoid companion robot called Abi. Abi is designed and manufactured at the company's Melbourne headquarters, takes visual cues from Disney and Pixar characters, and is used in aged-care settings to support residents alongside human staff, learning from repeated interactions and responding in around 90 languages. The company raised a $3 million seed round following $1 million in pre-seed from Galileo Ventures, then a $23 million Series A led by Forerunner Ventures at a reported $100 million valuation.
