Midea Group Robots
Midea Group, headquartered in Shunde, Foshan, is one of the world's largest home-appliance manufacturers and moved into robotics in 2015. In 2017 it invested roughly ¥29.2 billion for a 94.55% stake in the German industrial-robot maker KUKA, completing full ownership by 2022 at a total of ¥31.5 billion. Its Midea KUKA Intelligent Manufacturing Science and Technology Park in Shunde is China's largest industrial robot production base, having delivered more than 80,000 industrial robots. Midea made its humanoid ambitions public in March 2025 with a first prototype and a dedicated humanoid robot innovation centre, and has since shown MIRO-U, a six-armed industrial humanoid with three arms on each side.
