Overview
Open Droids is a San Francisco robotics startup founded in 2024 that develops single- and dual-arm mobile manipulators. Its R2D3 is a dual-arm update of the earlier R1D1, built to handle household and back-of-house work such as folding laundry and washing dishes. The company has piloted the platform in rehabilitation centres, assisting staff with repetitive tasks, and is targeting restaurant kitchens as a second market.
